Hi All probably not in the right forum but could anyone help with a supplier of self healing mats. Looking for 3 of 2400 x 1200. I don’t know if they come in that size. Thanks

If you do a search for ‘cutting mats’ there’s a few alternatives.

i’m in favour of 3mm (2440x1220mm) polypropylene sheets.

    Hi David

Got those currently but we seem to picking up a lot of crap when we go to laminate vinyl with the static. Also the grooves produced by the constant cutting is a pain.

I use the 4 x 8 mat from Jag and it is excellent.
Over a year now and it is as good as new.

cherwell also do them, and i think a bit cheaper than jag, but I still prefer glass as a worktop. outlasts cutting mats and nice to put a grid under for cutting square

I’m with Peter, we have two 10′ x 5′ workbenches with safety glass surfaces.

No static, can clean with anything you like, no cutting marks and last forever.

I’ve tried the jag one and didn’t get on very well with it, loads of cutting grooves and it curled like a banana.

I have had one of the Cherwell ones for around 3-4 years and its still perfect. Well worth the hundred odd quid. Might try the upside down Lino tho on another bench,….cheers Ian!! 😀

I would have to go with glass after trying all the rest, blades blunt quicker
    but the top last longer.

Thanks all. We did have glass in our previous location but we’ve moved to a first floor office and cant get the glass in without spending lots of money. I might give the lino a try before buying the mats as I need three 8 x 4s.

needs to be the proper Linoleum i.e rubbery right through , not the cheap type, with a felt back,
The non slip Variety that is used in schools etc is the best, I’ve only replaced twice in 14 yrs.
