Posted by A.Kordowski on February 3, 2017 at 1:38 pmIv’e just quoted on a job 2x4m feature wall in an office going onto plasterboard. Ive done this type of job before and have used "Digimura Wallpaper" which gives good results, but I’m a bit fed up with the water troth and mess. Fancy trying a self adhesive anyone got any suggestion on a substrate…..thanks in advance :thumbsup:

I used self adhesive wallpaper from Group 101 last year. Put it on an emulsion plastered wall about 6 months ago. Still as good as new now. Sorry cant recall the name of the material

We use Metamark MD-WA, love the stuff, self adhesive with air escape, really rate the product.

Hi
Another thumbs up for Metamark WA, have used loads and it works really well, prints great, easy to handle and very dimensionally stable.

I’ve run a load of samples of the Metamark MD-WA on our Ricoh latex and the results are fantastic!! I haven’t run it on a solvent machine yet but I would think the results would be pretty good too.
I have no experience with the fitting side of things as it’s not what I do but on looks alone, I’d definitely recommend the MD-WA.

Jon what adhesive system is used on the image perfect and do you know the code, the only ones I’ve fitted have adhesive on the back and we just spray with water and apply ?
-
i hate paste or water applications of any sort so it was good to use a self adhesive digital paper.
done lots of self adhesive wallpaper from Neschen. -
Out of interest has anyone used "Metamark MD-WA" with their solvent printer? ..with good results??
-
Hi I used md WA and had great results, apart from one wall which happened to be my nephews, and it wouldn’t stick for love nor money. I think maybe the paint was the issue though rather then the media

Hi Ben,
Like the images, i also have been using Metamark Wa. I noticed your using a heat gun in the first pic on the overlap any reasons why?….cheers mate

Hi Dan,
Ive tried printing on my latex with not very good results, i had to print at a very high pass rate 20pb to get half a decent result, which slowed the printer down. Im actually printing another wallpaper job on Metamark as i type but this time on my uv flatbed and getting much better results and a lot quicker. I havent got a solvent printer so cant say how well it will print, when you speak to Metamark make sure they send you the same batch code so that the emboss is the same…… :thumbsup:

Hi Rob, what is the product code please for the nueschen self adhesive wall paper? Can I print it on latex or solvent do you know? Thanks Dan
-
Hi Dan, sorry for the slow reply…
I am unsure the product code but i am pretty sure its compatible with Solvent, Latex and UV.

Installed this today. Customer didn’t OK the quote till yesterday, so dashed round the corner to pick up some media, ended up using Avery 8726 Canvas high tack wall covering.
Really thick, sticky adhesive which had me really worried about installing, but it worked a treat.
Need to call back next week to install some flat cut lettering.

Is there a standard width you do wallpaper?
I’m thinking a smaller width is easier to manage but slower to print.
Just wondered what you all do
-
Hi Daniel it all depends as an example:
Substrate = 1370mm
Wall = 2430mm x 5860mm
so split the wall in 5 drops off 1172mm each
To be honest id go for as wide as you can less drops to apply dosent really make it and easier if the drops are narrower…. :thumbsup:

Thanks Andy
That is pretty much what i would of done but wasn’t 100% sure, great to get some clarification.
