  • Seal laminator stopped working – help needed with fixing it?

Posted by Cheryl Smith on October 3, 2014 at 10:39 am

    Hi ya
as described…just went off as we were about to laminate…the trip switch is okay as far as I can make out….does it have an internal fuse or could it be something more sinister. Is there anyone in Kent that could look/fix it???

There are definitely internal fuses, as this used to happen to us. They ended up putting slightly higher rated fuses in.

I want to make sure I’m doing the correct thing…
there is a bag of fuses next to the magneto …iof thats what it is…and to the right of that are 4 grey ‘fuse’ boxes is that correct…they are in twos and are all switched to the on position. do I unscrew these and would that reveal where i need to put the fuses which are in the bag???
    many thanks
    Cheryl

That’s the power supply Cheryl, it’s a coil. Those are miniature circuit breakers (trip switches) & should be in the on position. You could try flippin them off & back on. You may have to do that twice for them to stay latched in the on position.
Hard to see but it looks like there are a couple of screw type fuse holders above No13 on the green rail. These will probably require a type of fuse you don’t have. They are not the standard house plug type fuse.

These somtime have a pull out section. Check there is not a swivel out bit before you unscrew them.

Have you checked all 3 of them Cheryl? Just noticed there is another one on the right hand side as you look at it
