  • Scottish Highlands Festival in Stone Mountain, GA

    I, my wife, my sister and her son all went to this festival here this past week-end. It was a lot of fun! Her son’s dad is from Clan Bruce so he really wanted to go. It’s a really large event that’s been going on for almost 40 years. We had a Bridie for lunch which I’d never had before. Delicious stuff!

    I’d certainly go back again next year. Just thought I’d share.

    Yep! The region of the US I’m in, the Southeast, has a really large amount of people of Irish, Scotch-Irish, English, Scots & Welsh decent. My paternal grandmothers parents were from Northern Ireland. Last name Shannon. My paternal grandfathers side were from Malmรถ, Sweden (hence the last name Strom). My mom’s side were Austrian. We are a mixed bunch here in the US!

    Amongst many other things, I used to make thousands of Bridies each week as a Baker/confectionist when i left school. also sausage rolls and meat pies. :lol1:

    yep im scottish, just ask those that have met me and for some reason, "tell me to slow down when i talk". :lol1: ๐Ÿ˜‰
