A bogus email doing the rounds this week shows that you have spent a £wad using Paypal. This is a scam, please be wary!

thank you its most important that you do not use any of the links on this one – if you go to the real paypal site there is a place to forward it to then delete it.

Spoken to the Paypal people – more info

Paypal always legitimately addresses any emails to the named user of account. They never address it Dear Customer etc.

The email is from Paypal INC (not Paypal.Com)
The amount on this scam is £1915.15 each time

As Chris Says – important not to click through on these emails

i got lots of scams from paypal’s

My rule of thumb is never click on an emails links, always go to the website and “login” and then go to the section.

Paypal have never emailed me for anything serious.

I just received an email from “paypal”, the problem is it was sent to my personal email address that they have never had to begin with.

i had two “You’ve got cash!” from a fake pay pal on thursday last week.
They did look 100% identical, except i was expecting a payment.

I’ve often found with these scams that if you hold your mouse pointer over the supposed link to the website it then shows something completely different, I guess these “links” are created as a picture file as text then given a HTML link.
