I am using a single stroke font in Signlab called Partoria.
Its a font we use for routing ultimately, but before we route, I have to show the client a proof first.
Therefore, as the font is just a black hairline over a dark blue background (difficult to see), I apply a weighty stroke to it with round caps using a light colour. This way the client can see the image as its supposed to look.

    NOW THE PROBLEM PART:
When I scale the whole proof down (prior to sending a PDF), the artwork and fonts scale down accordingly but the heavy stroke remains. Also if I just export it from Signlab to PDF, its still the same huge strokes making big blobs over my artwork.

    Where am I going wrong?

In Illustrator, in the preferences drop down, there is an option to "scale stroke weight"

    Does Signlab have something similar?

Well, I’m sure a Signlab user will be along later, after the sun comes up, to point you in the right direction. 😀

Weld the outline before scaling down,
Why do you need to scale it down though? it will export as a pdf no matter what the size

I’m with John, I was thinking of "scale with object" in corel draw.

Or as Pete suggests weld it to sort it out.

I always just convert strokes to outlines.
