Scaffolding Sign Frames – what material for inserts?
Hi all,
I’m quoting on some inserts for some Scaffolding Sign Frames,
the metal cases that attach to the scaffolding advertising the company.My customer wants some 900mm x 600mm signs to fit inside the frames
but can’t tell me what thickness they need to be, 5mm, 10mm, etc??They haven’t got the frames yet but still want costs and options for the signs.
Does anyone know what thickness the signs need to be to fit snuggly inside the
inserts? I’m thinking 5mm but really don’t want the signs rattling around in the wind because they’re to thin!Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I always use 4-5mm correx, stuck back to back with vhb or banner hem tape.
foamex is more expensive, gets brittle and breaks too easy when the clips are thrown on it, composite too expensive.

4mm correx here too stuck back to back, but they sit within a frame anyway so dont over do it with the tape

and no fancy corners, I have a square bit of foamex with (I think) a 50mm corner cut off, lay it over and stanley blade the corner off, may vary depending on who makes the frame.

I did wonder about the corners, I’ll try and get a frame
before making the signs.Thanks again
