Hello from North Devon -
Thanks for the welcome!
Good to see there are other women around. When I was initially looking at this forum it only seemed to be men….. -
oh no…………… there’s a few of us females around ………. don’t worry. We keep the boys in their rightful places! 😉

Roffey and Rob do cross dress from time to time if that counts
-

Thanks for the suggestions Brian.
I have been looking in yellow pages and online for suppliers, but did not find many. I got refered to O’Sullivans in Dublin. They sell vynil etc. but in large quantities. I am only a very (very) small operator and am currently more interested in suppliers of smaller quantities. I bought some stock online from the UK, that should keep me happy for a while (unless people start looking for the colours I didn’t buy……) -
customers will always want what you dont have…:lol1:
try expand your colour selection as you go but also try keep stock levels low starting out, no point tying up all your cash in stock,
most places offer next day delivery at reasonable cost so its easy get stock if you’re stuck..have a chat with derek in sign & digital on 087 6891633,
as i said really helpful and offer good service…exactly what you need in a supplier 😉

hey Brian,
Are you based in Cashel? I think I might have seen your place…. I am sometimes in that part of the country as my mother-in-law lives in Thurles, just down the road… -
no…we are actually in thurles :lol1:
drop in for a chat some time you’re in town -
okay, thanks. Might do that next time I am in the area for family visits….

Hi Angelique
Welcome to the boards!
Another good supplier (from whom you can buy material by the metre) is Trimwel in Dublin. Tel (01) 2940188. Ask for Derek or Ross.
All the best with your new venture!
Martin

Thanks for that Martin!
Well I think I have just found a very good supplier…… I woke up this morning ( I lied, 😳 it was afternoon) from a van leaving our place: a friend, who is a builder had left me a big pile of off-cuts sheeting material that I can use as backgrounds…. how is that for service!!! 😛 -
Howya doing.
Just noticed your from Ireland as well, seems we are slowly increasing in number on here.from West Clare myself

your kidding me mate… you any idea the amount from ireland on here? :lol1: :lol1:
on that, a good old Friend of mine from Ireland was Eddie Cotter from UKSB. that is a guy that put his heart and soul into starting his sign business and built it from nothing to a well known business today. I last heard eddie was supplying trade printing for other sign companies in his area. also built a cracking big house on land he built… way to go eddie! 😉

😉
well I have no Idea how many from Ireland are on the forum as I don’tt really see the flag that often and a few people seem to dominate talk on the board, probably giving the impression the irish are rare.
-
no probs Micheal, just kidding mate… many base the traffic on who posts on the boards. however, thats far from accurate when you take that we have up to 400,000 unique visits in a month, and only around 8600 actually "registered users", with only a fraction of that "actively posting". it is a bit deceiving…
i just did a quick count on the last 200 registered on UKSB… (in defense of what you have said) we have had only 14 register from Ireland. 132 from the UK mainland and the rest Misc… 😀 -
OK assuming the same rate in general That works about 800 or so, I did not even think there were that many sign people in Ireland in the first place! Let alone on here, they should post more often.
-
my thoughts entirely mate… 😀
it is scary the amount from the UK that are registered on UKSB.
i do monitor the traffic to an extent and the volume of traffic from the UK really is unbelievable.
UKSB gets anything up to 400-450 posts in a 24hr period… can you imagine If even a 10th of the "registered" users posted daily? 😕 :lol1: :lol1: -
