right click and hold the button down and tap the spacebar once and see if that does the trick thats the way to get round images that have been disabled from saving don’t know about gifs though

    Hi Robert,

What you need to do here is clear you Internet Explorer temporary files.
When your cache gets full it leads to IE5 or 6 doing some strange things,
one of them being only giving you the .bmp option.

To clear the temporary files go to “Tools/Internet Options” on the toolbar
and then click ‘Delete Files’ in the ‘Temporary Internet Files’ section.

It will take a couple of minutes but when done restart IE and your problem should be cleared.

    Cheers,

    Jason. 😀

thank you for the comments outline, any further advice you would like to give me feel free to email me at anytime mate.. or just use the contact us form. 😉

as for the reason behind needing to save gifs as they are shown..
well, its not for signmaking for a start. its for this website actualy.
gifs are low rez compressed files purposely for the net. it allows pages load much faster than say a jpg or bmp files.
NOT all gifs are animated but the majority of the internets moving, flashing images etc are.
i can create my own gifs/animations and have recently purchased software to help me do this better for announcments, adverts, buttons and more on this site. a big help to me actualy.
from switching to XP i have found this a problem.. jason has advised on this and i can now do it again very easily. save gifs from the net that is.
as for web developers using them.. well i know many, even the one that works with me on this site that uses them day in day out.
so for signmaking, nah they are to low res to use for printing. but web development, they are a must.

if i have any part of this wrong and you would like to correct me on something feel free to email me like i have said.

    😀
