• Satin Black Vinyl

So I’ve been asked to do my first full wrap in satin black on BMW E30 2DR. The car itself is pretty simple in design, no major contours or recesses.

Just wanted to know what film you guys recommended for the job. I’ve heard good things about 3M 85 series, is there anything else I should be looking at. Its satin black not matt black I’m after.

    Thanks in advance.

You may find that you will have a greater choice of materials to select from if you consider a gloss black and laminate it with satin. Whatever you use you’ll want to laminate it to you can handle the material better.
If no major areas to battle with, look at a black cast from any leading supplier and then get them to also supply a satin cast laminate.
    Hope this helps.

No not the case with the 85 series. It is specifically designed as a car paint replacement vinyl so very user friendly…..spoken as someone who has used it and not just sold it :lol1: ….. It’s 85 micron thick which equates to the same as 3M’s digital wrap vinyl when laminated.

Gill supplied me with some of that and it’s working really well, even on the very curvy wings.
