some may know that i supply lots of graphic design, props and backdrops for various theatres which is how i slowly moved more into signs a couple of years ago after buying a printer and laminator to add to my cutter.

i thought i would post this job i did a few days ago for a Glasgow Theatre stage because the prints on the floor are pretty big for me! it is not finished but i had to go in first to get the graphics in place while they build the set around me. so this is not the finished job, but as good as i could get for now.

the theatre is big and sits in the city centre. I’ve added some pics from the stage looking into the audience so you can see a more glamorous view of it. this is just one stage/hall of several.

      Thanks Peter. 🙂
no, they didnt move the walls, which was most annoying. it would have been much quicker and easier if they had. 🙄

thanks Simon, yes lots of fun! 🙂
unfortunately, when everyone has a creative background and wants to give input, but does not appreciate what is and isn’t possible “for their budget” it has its moments. 😬🤣

    Looks great Leslie. 👍
I bet your knees and back are breaking fitting that! 🤣

I have fitted loads of floor graphics over the years and it is amazing how fast you become sore!
If you ever have a big floor fitting project, I cannot advise you more on buying some cheap mountain bike “knee and shin guards”.
NOT just the knee, because you lean on the knee, but your weight and coverage is sliding about on your shin, and ankle as you move. I’ve attached some pictures.
It’s 100% better to wear shorts with them as it lets air to your legs and helps with circulation too. YES you look a bit of a plumb, but trust me, I have fitted floor graphics for up to a week at a time, and after 10 minutes on your knees, you simply do not care because of how much better it is.

there are also kneeling boards with wheels, but i much prefer the pads.

thanks robert, that is a really good idea!
yes i was sore and so was my friend who was helping me.
i actually cut my knee by kneeling on the head of a nail. one of the stage people found us some bits of polystyrene to kneel on which was great, but half way into the job it had broken into bits.
my younger brother may have some knee pads! 🙂

      thanks mark. 🙂
each letter is about 10ft high but felt much bigger trying to handle them.
i have already been given another stage floor job off the back of this one, so it has been well worth it.

    hi leslie

thats a lovely big job to get. well done you! ❤
i hate kneeling and working. i have done some big banners over the years and all done on the floor because i don’t have the table space. after five minutes i want to cry! 😫
