if you are on fibre optic then consider using things like http://www.teamviewer.com

put that on the cutter pc and go anywhere

I know signlab offer a designer package, we have one on the reception computer. Does everything apart from cut. Have you asked if VMP do a similer thing.

Brian you can have vinylmaster installed on more than one machine & use both of them for design but you can only have one of them with the software activated allowing you to cut. You can still save work to the non activated machine allowing you to design at home & take or email the files to the workshop for cutting. There are some other limitations but can’t remember what they are.

What ever works best for you Brian, I use a memory stick because I don’t have a phone connection at the unit so email or dropbox wouldn’t work for me. You can get a free dropbox account which will probably give you more storage space than you are likely to need if your only using it to transfer files.

One option if you have broadband connection at both locations is a simple NAS (Network Attached Storage) setup that allows remote connection – no files to email, no memory sticks needed and access to all files in one place.
Think a simple 2TB drive is about £200 now.
(Added bonus is the RAID function to back up your work)

Corel allows more than one installation, the licence is that they should not be used at the same time. Drop box is good but I also like Skydrive, which is particularly easy to use and also gives you 7 gig of free space. Obviously broadband is required and upload speeds are considerably slower than download but that applies to any cload based storage
