What do you when the customer wants you to dispose of the old sign etc..?

    Do you charge for disposal?
Do you dump at the local tip for a commercial charge?

I always know when an old sign needs to be taken away (from the site survey) so I bung a few squids on the price to cover taking it to the commercial tip. I think it’s all part of the service and something that customers should expect of us. A friend of mine uses so much perspex that he has it all collected, along with old signs, by a recycling company every couple of months.

We are the same as Big G, we check it out during a site survey, if we do not get chance to go out and see the site we state on the bottom of the quote that “This quote does not inlcude the removal or disposal of existing/old signage. This is deemed as your property and therefore will be left at the premises unless requested and agreed otherwise prior to fitting”

We did this after hearing that one customer had caused a huge row over a signmaker taking the old signs away, I think the customer tried to claim for it and stated something about theft??? 😮 cannot for the life of me think where we heard or read it now?

What sort of costs are you being charged for disposal at the local tip

Or how much does the Council charge you for commercial waste collection

We have one of those big tub/bin/steel box rubbish bin things for trade refuse and the council empty it for £6.72 +vat per collection and we have it collected once a week, more often if we need it.
