Does anyone know how to make a vector logo look like a rubber stamp? It’s a logo of a tile with the name of the company in and they want it to look like a stamp.

Is there a way of doing this?

there are quite a few fonts that look like stamp impressions, I did have one or two but cant find them just now,
Do a google for rubber stamp fonts,
At least it will give you an idea on how it should look,

    Hi Brian,

I asked for an update for my disk just last week and I was told that you don’t send all the new outlines that you got, just the outlines for the vehicles that we need. Is this true?

There are so many new vans out now since I bought my disk at the end of last year.

There is a filter you can get in Photoshop that does it, but not on a vector. It would have to be a bitmap then trace round the result.

We send the outlines that you get asked for by your customers (assuming we have them) that’s the way it has worked for 12 years. Pointless emailing dozens of vehicles you may never use. If we were to send everybody every outline we would never get time to do any new ones. If you have any questions about how it works give me a call.

On the subject of rubber stamp style thingies, I think the demo on antique style lettering that Mike did would cover this. It basically showed how to make lettering look degraded and a bit patchy. Is that demo still on the site?

Also, on Dafont.com there are a few rough looking fonts, like Weltron Urban, for example. These would at least show the sort of effect you need.

I know how to do it manually, but it would take a fair bit of explaining.

Try designing the logo as usual, print it out in black (small) on your laser printer, scan, and trace again. I’ve done this on a few things, and it works a treat!

This is your best option, works well and you don’t really need to clean it up because the point of it is to be rough edged.

    good luck
