Think it’s been mentioned before that you need to be a listed supplier for PO jobs – although I put my hands up to doing a couple of swing signs before.

Thanks Nick-that was quick!

Ooeerrr…..so how does that work then Tim? If I do this (very small) job, will I be shot at dawn, (:) , or will I be strung up? :hung:

Don’t ask me I pleaded the 5th & Ignorance. But it has been mentioned before……..

I had best get practicing my  then. Must be time for a new *hair* and hat too! :lol1:

I would have thought the onus was on the postmaster to know that all sign work should be carried by approved suppliers. Although having said that I suppose you shouldn’t recreate any copyrighted material without the owners consent anyway.

My local Postmaster asked me to re-sign his main branch PO (Fascia)
All went well as he was aware about using recognised suppliers.
Job was completed & paid for ….everyone happy.
Until the area manager turned up a month later. He was told in no uncertain terms to have it all replaced by a recognised supplier.I have been back recently & apart from an additional green stripe i cannot see any difference.

Hi guys,
just using and bumping this old post to see if anyone knows whether this legislation has changed over the last couple of years. I can’t find any other info on the search.I’ve been asked to look at supplying a Post Office shop sign for a chap and don’t want to waste his money. I’m supposed to be looking at the job on Monday.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Cheers,
Cheryl 😀

To my knowledge nothing has been changed. You still have to be an accredited supplier.
-
Cheers Mike,
I appreciate your help, I’ll contact the guy tomorrow. All the best,

Hi Cheryl,
Po’s do need to use a listed signwriter, but that said, i dont think there is any problem you doing them if asked? We did some for our PO every one delignhted went to price for more then the PO came and said sorry they have been told to get them through a listed supplier!
If you have been asked. cant see a problem. I have a logo in the office if you need it! (back on Wednesday)

Hi Nigel,
many thanks for your help.I called the guy this morning and he is going to contact the powers that be to get a definite answer to the question.
Once we’ve heard from the PO, I’ll let everyone know the outcome so that it’s clear for any future work concerning the PO.
Thanks again,
Cheryl 😀 -
Sorry to resurrect this old post, but the PO owner has come back (after all this time), and placed a definite order. He has purchased the oval logos from an approved supplier, but would like me to apply the red stripe, and additional text. Does supplying the panels and a bit of vinyl constitute a crime?
Cheryl, did you ever get an answer?
Thanks

Take his money and run! :lol1: Just cover your ar$e again by telling him you shouldn’t be doing it and you cannot be responsible for any repercussions.
Funny thing is you aren’t allowed to fix them either so I think he is even breaking the rules bringing them to you as they have to be fitted by the suppliers. (chat.)
