    Hello all,

Can anyone help with recommending the best material for printed roller blinds. Any ideas about the best materials to use for a bespoke roller blind would be great also as I’ve been directed to some kits but not to sure how challenging this may be or what material would hold up best for this kind of job.

    Many Thanks in advance

I would personally be looking to out source this rather than try and get away with a pigment print, have no idea what material would be best but I have seen people print onto tyvek and then cut using something like a javlin. Have no idea what sort of lifespan they were expecting to get out of them though.

Martin, I guess those are things I will have to consider lifespan and outsourcing. How long do you reckon a pigment print would last on the right material?

    Cheers

Honestly I have no idea. People will say there isn’t a problem with pigment prints and they will last 3 years outside if laminated. Personally I don’t believe this is the case. Maybe sometimes you will get away with it but not all the time. Why is it that manufacturers of media say 18 months tops if laminated. I did have an encad 850 but never used it for anything outdoors unless it was very short term. I did and still do buy any prints in that I need for out door work, don’t have the volume of printed work to justify buying a printer.

Not sure if the new inks for the elements atom will run in your machine but they might be worth looking in to.

Greatly appreciated Martin, I will have a look into the inks you mentioned. The roller blinds are meant for indoor use but I guess the will be facing outside. So outdoor quality would be better.

    Kind Regards
