XP shouldn’t be a problem Phil, I’d keep an eye on this one Phil, 8 bids in 18 hours, I haven’t a clue on the going rate for 2nd hand plotters but Roland are one of the best, I’d have thought if you get it for a couple of hundred thats not a bad deal if it works if it don’t then getting a Roland engineer out to look at it 😮 then you’d probably be cheaper to buy a new one 😕

I would assume this item does not work and they seller says they don’t know anything about the machine so theres not much point asking questions.

The seller is in sussex and your in manchester it might be an idea if you can get down to view it before placing a bid.

Or if there are any sign makers in sussex who might be willing to go have a look for you.

If you do decide to bid make sure you bid what your willing to pay for a machine that might not work. Just a thought, maybe you could contact roland and see how much it will cost to service the machine to make sure its in working order, if your happy to pay this then contact the seller and tell them you would like to arrange a service see what they say. if they say no then don’t bid as they proberbly know the machine doesn’t work

Sounds a bit risky as the seller can’t really vouch for anything
At least if you were buying from a sign guy he’d have it up and running for you to see it
He could tell you more about its history and its performance

This was the first machine I first bought 12 years ago when i first started out. There is not an awfull lot to go wrong with xy plotters and Roland are one of the best. I sold mine after 7 years and it was working as well as when I bought it. The only thing I repalced was the plastic cutting strip.
Roland are also pretty good when it comes to spares as well.

The only thing you might be dissapointed with is the speed, it aint quick.

I wouldnt pay over £500 though.

Don’t know on the Camm1 but considering doing a mix on the noises from the PC60, might even become the “Tried and Tested” of the week on Radio 1 😛

Bit of a late reply – but:
Also available direct from Roland in Swansea
You can fit yourself – it’s just stuck down with double sided adhesive in the slot it inhabits. Clean all the adhesive out – any bits left will give you a bump on what should be a completely flat cutting surface.
Quick Fix:
Use several strips of celotape along the used cutting strip.
This will bridge the groove you’ve cut and give a new surface!
Doesn’t last long – but it will get a job out!
