Gav I think has a Graphtec 2100-50 for sale at similar money.
It’s faster, quieter & far more a ajustable than the Roland.
I would much rather go for that if I were you 🙂

How easy is ut to connect the Graphtec 2100-50 to windows XP or MAC OS 9, anyone had any experiance?

Have a look at http://www.magisign.com
MagiSign is a small plug-in to Illustrator 8/9/10 and OS 9.x
Easy installation. Just download the demo, un-pack it and place the plug-in into Illustrators plug-in folder. Make sure to add an extra 10-20MB or so to Illustrator.
If you have an older Mac with modem/printer ports it is easy to connect the cutter. Using a Mac with USB ports only, you will have to buy a converter, for example KeySpan Twin Serial Adapter. I would also go for an extrnal USB hub with it’s own power supply as the KeySpan adapter wants a lot of power.
In my opinion, go for the Graphtec, not the PNC1000. The old FC2100 outperforms even some up-to-date models from Roland.
Hope this helps.
