Hi Jean, I used to work at Roland. While I was there they would close the office a couple of time a year for staff training. Although it’s annoying when you need to get hold of them you should see the benefit when you do. Anything I can help with?

Hi Matt, just an ongoing issue Ive had with my printer being inconsistant on cutting. I sent them a video yesterday and they were going to get back to me. I waited till late but no call back and then today i called customer service and got this message. Thought they could have told me yesterday that they would not be about today. I would have asked on here about the problem but the video is too big to download on to the site.

Upload it to YouTube Jean then copy and paste the link to here 🙂

Hi this is the link to the problem im having. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2N4tFfNSFA
Basically ive printed some small stickers 50mm x 25mm and done three sets one after the other. Laminated and put back through to cut them. 1st set fine 2nd set completely off after the first row but fine top to bottom just cutting other rows apx 1mm wider so by the time it hits the last row its apx 5mm out. 3rd set cut straight after abosolutly fine again. Its never been great and the machine is serviced every year. I was told i was printing too long a lengths (apx 1000mm) and to reduce it to 700mm. These prints are around 400mm per set :bangshead: and i still get this happening. Any one have an idea? much appriciated jean

I left about 18 months ago David.
What happens if you reload the sheet that failed and try to cut it again Jean? If it’s wrong again it indicates the printer is seeing a difference in that sheet. If it cuts fine it eliminates any problem with the sheet and confirms an intermittent problem. This might help us to home in on what’s going wrong. Do you use multiple pinch wheels when cutting. It looks like the error is in the feed direction?

My pleasure Jean. I hope the test I suggested helps Roland diagnose the fault. If you find out what it is I’d be interested to know. Have a good Friday and weekend Jean :smiles:

Hi Mat, they had us do a masking tape return to point test which it passed. They have asked for me to forward the file so they can try and replicate it at their end.
They were getting back to me but not heard from them yet.
