  • Roland Colorip V2.2 …. Will it run on Windows 7 ?

Posted by Adrian Neill on November 4, 2011 at 3:46 pm

    Afternoon everyone.

We’ve been given a copy of the Roland Colorip V2.2 from our ink suppliers / Printer Technicians but i’m having a couple of problems with it.

We replaced one of the PC’s in the studio which is running Windows 7 64 Bit. I’ve been told that this RIP software won’t run properly on this Windows ? Is that correct ? If that’s the case then i’ll save the other questions.

Cheers in advance for any help. 😀

it needs XP mode apart from that don’t know.
just bought a new printer and as part of the deal got the single use upgrade from colourrip 2.2 to wasatch 6. what ever.which is the full version just for one roland printer.

what are you using now and why are they giving you a rip that is well out of date.

Your issue maybe more about 64 bit rather than Windows 7. I really like W7 but chose 32 bit to avoid driver issues and incompatibility with older programmes.

Why limit the amount of ram you can use by running in 32bit, run in 64bit with either xp mode or vmware player then you can run all your XP software without problem.

Morning guys, thanks for the replies.

I have been running it in XP mode and still it will not open anything, which really is bizarre. We have been running V2.0 for a few years now with no trouble but had some work done on our Grenadier a couple of weeks ago and the engineer gave us a copy of Roland V2.2 so thought we’d give it a go.

It’s not the end of the world really, just thought we’d give it a crack. 😀
