    Hi
just done a clean on the Soljet & its blown the light cyan head, ink firing from the head as & when it wants. Have managed to find a company in Belgium offering good deals on heads (they state that they come in genuine sealed Roland packaging) and other parts. Just purchased 2 heads, 6 dampers and 6 capping stations for 960 euros. Will post link & experiences once i have recieved the parts

Maybe better to wait till you received and fitted the parts Kevin.
no point in posting a "look what I have found" unless you have tried it first, and can vouch for it.

Well sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone.

    Ordered 2 heads
    6 dampers 😳
    6 capping stations

on Monday afternoon, order was processed on Tuesday sent to me on Wednesday by DHL, with me by lunch time Thursday not the fastest service but have had worst. Heads appear to be genuine Roland as stated although the boxes or plastic trays had no Roland markings but they do have the Roland shorter serial number etc. So all seems OK. Capping stations are Mimaki solvent units with no sponges which means no siphoning when the sponges swell. Reason for the in depth description is that i don’t believe that one order is good enough for recommendation to others although i will still post the link.
Price for all of the above including carriage 910 euros which is a considerable saving on UK prices.

I am more than pleased with the products & the service i have recieved but please make your own minds up when considering using the above company.

    Kev,

Was it a difficult job sorting out the new print-heads once you’d installed them, I here that you need the service engineers code to be able to set them up, how did you manage?

I’m looking to replace one of my SP540V heads, and don’t relish the £600 (parts) £350 (labour) to fit one head. I was told that I have the old style pump on mine, and that to would need upgrading…!!

Kev, didgi-print supplies have been in contact with me, first about 8-10 months ago.
looking to do something with the UKSG etc good to hear you are happy with the service so far…

i recently changed 2 manifolds on my heads. the manifolds require the heads to be removed to change. wasnt very hard, but you do need to be VERY carefull. once everything is back in place, you do need to also know how to align the heads which is tricky and requires a good set of eyes or a magnifying glass. :lol1:
all in all i dont really recomend it and i think a professional should be used when possible, however, i was extremely pushed for time and needed sorted pronto.

Bit like you Robbie, I don’t have time to fly Roland engineers out here for a full 8 hour day…. when they can…..
So DigiPrint also got an order from me for 2 heads, 1 pump, 2 caps, 4 dampers all for 901 Euro including the carriage.

I’ll let you know about the fitting…. 😀

Sorry i haven’t responded earlier didn’t see that someone had responded.

    Rob
i repair my machine all of the time but my past trade was an engineer including work on single colour solvent coding machines etc, i also have the Roland service manual for my soljet as well. Surprises Roland when you ring them with the part numbers you need.

    Sam
you need access to the service menu which requires arrow buttons on the machine being pushed in a predetermined pattern subject to firmware version. You ideally do need a manual if you have not done it before or a service engineer and watch very closely. Lining up is time consuming & like Rob said a magnifying glass helps. You can get yourself in to deep trouble if you get it wrong so please only do the job if you are confident & have all of the relevant info & tools to hand. Always fit new dampers on when fitting new heads

    Thanks for that Kev,

So on a plea of desperation, does anyone have a service manual for a SP540V firmware Rev:6.20

    Please generous…… 😥

    Kev,

I’m in the Isle of Man, hence the 8 hours & plane costs for Roland engineer on top of the parts….
