    Hi All

Well been using Robert Horne on and off for a while now and im registered through UKSG for the discounts sometimes they like me to pay by card sometimes they dont bother and send stuff out followed by invoice either way doesnt fuss me too much.

Get a rush job on so go to place an order today and im informed by RH that my accounts is on hold (with no note on the system why) – so the rep sais he will look into it and phone me staight back.

45 mins later and no reply so I call back and the same guy answers the phone and after a bit of uneasy verbal shuffling sais sorry couldnt find your number on the call logger.

Anyway it turns out they put my account on hold because – "I dont have an account" and should have paid by card.

Now they were happy to send the goods and never chased me for a payment so what am I – a mind reader? the last invoice wasnt even 30 days old but coincidentally I had sent the cheque yesterday first class. So I thought no problem said to the sales guy ok ive sent the cheque should be in your system today so why dont I pay for todays order on the card – great he said.

Went through the order for delivery tommorrow sorted

then he phones back half hour later to say they wont send out the goods untill the last lots paid for (even though they have probably received the cheque)

So im off now to collect from another supplier 😀

Bet they couldnt run a pi££ up in a brewery 😀

any Robert Horne reps on here please feel free to phone and discuss or reply here (:)

Robert Horne used to be my No1 supplier for many years. The rep Brian Hunkin used to keep his pencil sharp with me. Got on really well with him. Then he was forced into retirement and for me they then went downhill fast. Prices seemed to rise everytime I order something, so I only use them now when I am desperate. 🙄

Had board delivered today, it was damaged. Phone up for replacement got no stock. Now this is bog standard Reynobond composite on top of that Oraguard 215 out of stock and although they sold me vinyl at 1560 wide they only have 1370 coming in. I do hope that we are not heading back to the days of never any stock avaliable.

ops! they are not doing very well with me either, waiting 6 weeks for a credit note for wrong vinyl sent, only to find out that some one had deleted the invoice instead.
same end result but with out a paper trail no body could work it out.

sorted it out paid it over the phone then it appeared on the statement as not paid. grrrrrr.

can’t say i’ve had any probles since the changeover was taking place,

a few wrong deliveries or OOS but nothing major or left unsorted when i phoned up.

I was on stop too last week when i ordered, I always pay by card, always have as I prefer it that way, not missed any payments so dunno why i was on stop and no explanation.

to be fair, I was called back within a few minutes.

the only thing i would like to see change, is the 0845 number. it’s fine from my landline but if i’m mobile, 08 numbers are not included in my contract, meaning I’m paying for a call i used to do for free! ok.. it’s pence… unless on the phone for twenty mins sorting something out!

That’s my biggest gripe, I make virtually all my calls using my mobile I don’t use the 0845 number anymore. This is exactly why 0800 numbers are on the way out because so many more calls are being made from mobiles now and they aint free!

On the whole Robert Horne treat me very well always polite and friendly.
Do run out of the essentials, ie Skybond from time to time…but generally good. A vast improvement from what they were, I didn’t have a clue what I was paying for anything 😕

Service for me has always been quiet good but this new delivery charge thing has got me a bit annoyed and I’ll tell you why,

Yesterday I ordered 1 sheet of Skybond and asked for it to be cut, I was told it doesn’t meet minimum charge for free delivery so I say OK then throw in another full 8×4 sheet as I’ll have my Steeltrak soon and will be able to cut it myself.

    Have you guessed it yet?

Today they deliver the one full sheet and they’ll be back on Monday to deliver the other one 😮

    WTF

    🙄

I have moved this post to UKSB members forum for time being. Would explain why but typing this on an iPad and does my head in. :lol1: in a nutshell though… The post is getting more about free delivery etc and that’s mainly only UKSB members that get that extra from suppliers. Well any I know of charge delivery anyway or am I missing some? also… Nearly all those replying are UKSg. And on this subject. Further more, as it’s not following the formal UKSg complaints procedure I cannot help address the matter, sorry. not saying I don’t agree with anyone here, on various complaints I very much do.

Anyway, though die mention I moved the post before someone asks why??

Please feel free to continue this discussion and John, if you would rather this moved to a non UKSB forum mate then please feel free to pm me and I’ll do so immediately.

I always pay by card, but sometimes get problems about who I am and accounts stuff…

Also ordered two white skybond to be cut for a tray I was hoping to make today (saturday) to fit early in week, one piece turned up, and it was blue. 🙁

Just out of that’s here on my part. and this is for everyone reading…

    Question One
what supplier do you have/know that delivers Free of Charge?

and i am not talking a company just up the road from you that you have a good relationship with a sales rep etc that drops it in on his way home etc…
    😀

I am also not talking about those that have "Spend over certain amount and delivery is free" type setup…

I am sure you know what I am asking here…. 😀

    Question Two
Who has tried sending a flat sign panel, a constructed sign or pan sign of any size over 8x4etc to another location via carrier?

If you have succesffully did this…
1, which carrier firm did you use?
2, roughly how much did it cost?
3, what insurance gaurantees did you have over damage?

    .

We aim for free deliveries from our suppliers but as trucks get more expensive to run, I have to sympathise a little.
