    Hello All,

I’m new here – but started a small wall art business about a year ago. I’ve read a lot of good reviews about RH and ordered from him last year, no problems.

My business is expanding and now looking to use him for larger quantities. However, seems delivery prices are £18 flat rate! No other delivery option available! 😮 I have an old email from last year where the delivery pricing is only £5-6!

    What’s going on?!

I stopped using them cause they kept declining my card even though the bank were authorising the transactions

    Very strange indeed….

Could you recommend anybody else who stocks Avery Vinyl?

    Many thanks

Try Spandex for avery, although I’ve found them a little dearer.

We’ve fallen out with RHG in the past, but another supplier we use had stock issues, to have returned. Luckily for us their Manchester branch is 10mins away :lol1:

RHG use their own carrier (The Delivery Co) to send out their orders, so I would imagine that’s why they’re dearer in comparison, but on the other hand, your roll of vinyl isn’t been chucked around with everybody else’s Christmas pressies.

Can’t you just place a bigger order and get free delivery?

Have to say we have never been charged delivery on a robert horne order. That said they have brought in some new policies and become a little more strict in the last few weeks.

Its a matter of common sense though, if you’re delivering a few rolls of media and various boards etc a few times a week then yes free delivery is a given. Put yourself in their place though, if you order 5m of vinyl and two felt squeegees is it really worth sending a driver specially?

Think its the same with the cutting charge, if you order a sheet of £10 foam and want it cut in half, chances are they’d do it and not quibble. But if you want that same £10 sheet cut into 50 little pieces then is it worth the hassle of standing a guy in front of the saw for an hour then packaging it specially? I wouldn’t do that for nothing so why should they?

Dont get me wrong I’ve had issues in the past but they really have pulled their act together, pricing is better than its ever been and we’ve never had a wrong delivery in ages. Their new owners probably just want the company to run more effectively and to cut out some of the "pointless" jobs – isn’t that what we all want in reality?

Think I ordered from the Robert Horne Direct website last time…but perhaps the prices are different with a registered account including the delivery prices?

I would happily order £100 worth of vinyl….but seems there is still a flat rate of £18, so I’m guessing the free delivery option is only available for registered account holders.

It’s my understanding that previously, any order over £75.00 had free delivery, but this
will no longer be the case. All orders, irrespective of value, will incur a delivery charge.

I’m not sure if it has been implemented yet, but we have been told it is coming.

Maybe someone from Paperlinx would care to clarify…..

It will be good to hear fro Rob on this because free delivery was part of the UKSB deal, it was accepted that they had to impose the delivery charge on orders under £75 but their prices are now much the same as everyone elses now.

In fact Kev, they (Paperlynx, AKA Robert Horne, AKA Europoint) are more expensive now, than suppliers a few miles away from me. Now they have put on a cutting charge(£6 + VAT for one cut, last week, I discovered when invoiced) and delivery charge, there is no reason for me to order from them at all.

A friend of mine orders from them and he gets a £4 surcharge per colour on none full rolls so he has switched supplier he also said he was told about delivery charges being put on all orders and charges for cutting composite. Hopefully it won’t apply to uksg members but if it does I will have to look at changing to one of the other suppliers.

Have to agree with Andy on this one.

None of us would do work for nothing or deliver signs to the customer for nothing. We have to accept that even big companies like Robert Horne have to tighten up the belt to survive.

If there not getting big orders themselves then they have less deliveries to make per day so why send a guy out in a van to deliver say 5m of vinyl for no charge. Even giving you a free delivery for orders over £100… an hours round trip for some guy to deliver it, cost 1/hrs pay and fuel etc..

Ok thats my tuppence worth 😀

It is a vicious cycle though, we get used to free delivery, cutting etc, on orders over X amount, so when we do start to get charged, we need to up our costs to the customer, they then rebel and go elsewhere……
