Who uses Robert Horn these days?
Just phoned them up wanting a quote on some Avery vinyl and nearly fell of my chair, not only their delivery charge of £20.00….

Good old Spandex to the rescue….

    Your views please….

Robert Horne to me seems far cheaper than spandex.

I asked for a quote for avery 1005, from both companies Spandex price was £230 more a roll. I could have three rolls from robert horne for the price of two from spandex. How does that work?

Its the same with most ofl the avery digital products.

Stock issues aswell, although Spandex are getting better they used to keep telling me that there was a lead time of a week or two. This was on their Image perfect range.

I rang Robert Horne once. They wouldn’t even quote me a price…"We don’t work like that." They wanted me to start ordering vinyl and then they would decide what pricing band I would be in.

Yeah, good luck with that idea!

Oh, and they would only sell like, a million miles of vinyl at a time.

    I don’t think they wanted me. 😕

    Hi,

I used to use them a lot but prices seemed to creep up.

I find that the cost of vinyl and board etc.. in this industry is very hit and miss!

I know 3 other signmakers in the area and we all order from the same companys and yet all 4 of us are all paying different prices!!

One was using a lot less board than me but getting it £1 a sheet cheaper, I rang and pushed for a better price and Hey Presto £1.20 a sheet off!!!

    Just my 2 penneth worth…
    Cheers
    Ian

    Understandable. 😀

Seriously, we use Robert Horne for the vast majority of our vinyl and only go elsewhere for a colour they don’t do or because the client has specified something that they don’t sell.

Prices are good, delivery brilliant and the service impeccable.

I don’t use spandex anymore for a similar reason.

I don’t have an account with them, and pay cash for every order. But, I pay a higher price than their account customers.

I’ve tried to negotiate a better price but they will not even consider it until I open an account.

I thought cash would be a better proposition.

Apparently they don’t like cash because it means more work having to do banking and keeping track of the money. Go figure.. 🙄

Robert Horne completely destroyed Spandex’s price for Avery Vinyl. When I said how much I was paying to to Spandex, they said they don’t even buy it in that cheap!

I suggested he try another sales line, as that one is as old as the hills :lol1:

And as for quality, well, I don’t know how so many of you guys put up with Europoint & Oracal? I’ve had to ditch it as I find it’s too difficult to work with compared to the equivilent Avery (and the Avery is cheaper too!) & the service I got from Europoint was shoddy to be fair 🙁

    Cheers,

    Gwaredd.

We use Robert Horne for the majority of our vinyls, and find that they bend over backwards to help….especially if they’ve made a mistake on the order! Also, we are only 20 mins away from their head office in Northampton, so we can also collect.

We also use Robert Horne for the majority of our vinyl and digital materials, very good service.

Again we are in Northampton so can collect if need a rush order, very useful when you can pick material up very quickly.
