  • Roadside Signage Fixings – Supplier?

Posted by Pryam Carter on August 17, 2005 at 7:38 pm

As far as i can make out there are two ways to fix a sign to a post by using a rail.
One is with clips which tightens with the aid of a bolt, this tightens and pulls the sign up against the post. This l’m familiar with.
The other one l’m not. From ones i’ve seen about it looks like a metal strip that wraps around the post until tight and is then snapped of, a bit like a cable tie.

Does anyone know of a supplier who can help me?

You could speak to Keith or Dawn (on hols at the moment) at S&J Signs. I’m sure they’ll be able to help.

    Tel: 0121 264 010

There will be many others to try, lots have been posted on the boards before.

    Hi, we use screw banding

this is very similar to the stuff you mentioned except its like a jubilee clip on a roll, supplied with the screw piece and a clip that goes onto the sign track.

We get ours from a local iron mongary supplier, but i think ashby do them

    cheers

good shout mate… to be honest i haven’t used it, but seen it many times.
i don’t know how each would compare but i would think the screw type would be easiest, possibly cheaper too…

no special tools required; except a screw driver and some tin snips

we buy it on a 50 metre roll, can’t recall costs but i’ll have a look on friday, if thats not too late, when i’m back in the office.

    cheers

    We use:

Best stainless steel banding we have came across, and highly recommend, no need for a banding tool, just need a special shaped drill bit (or the tamtorque driver) and away you go.

The beauty of this is that if you don’t have the bit, you won’t get it off!

Even our local Council buy these from us now.

Thanks everyone, as usual very helpful.

I feared that i’d have to buy some sort of kit as you sid Rob but Signsols link looks pretty good. I’ll check the other stuff out too.
