    Hi guys & gals,

I’ve just bought a Ricoh 3300Ndye sub printer, and I’m running it off a Mac on O SX Lion 10.7.2 – it works fine connected direct to the Mac via a USB cable, but I really want to run it on my Ethernet network.

When I connect it via the hub with a Cat5 cable the Mac doesn’t see it. I think it might be something to do with network settings / IP address (which I have off the printer control panel). The reason I want to do this is I need the printer in another room (with my other printers that are connected with cat5 Ethernet)

Anyone have any ideas / method please.

I would be very very grateful

    Cheers

    Billy

    Hi,

set the network address on the printer to a static address in the range you are using. then set the subnet mask to the same one your network is on.

    example

    network 192.168.1.111
    sub 255.255.255.0

then add a network printer and in the search box the printer should be listed.

    open the command prompt
    type ipconfig

and that will tell you the network range and subnet mask you are in just pick a high number for the last number of the address.
