pretty simple one here.. silver rynabond, fastened with tech bolts to an existing steel frame work using tech bolts/screws.

    Nice one Rob.

I like the way the red border becomes deeper at the bottom to frame the web site, and the grey head filling the space on the left. I must try this on some of my designs as I think it is very effective. (Loved that black and grey van someone did not so long ago, think it was the Devil on a DJ van)

    Cheers

Like the sign, especially the DJ image as Dave has said πŸ˜€

Could I ask though, why rynabond? Might be a stupid question, but it looks to be a shaded area, not too high off the ground and not a massive sign weight-wise. Was there a specific reason to use it?

    Cheers, Dewi

    Nice one Rob πŸ˜€

The guy on there looks like he’s from the planet Zod, here to make contact πŸ˜†

Rynabond sounds and looks very similar to dibond
(two thin sheets of ali’ with pvc sandwiched in between, am I right?)

I seem to be using rynabond for most of our stuff these days. That and 2mm aluminium. I’m not a lover of Foamex and Perspex is too expensive and has many drawbacks anyway.
If the customers wont pay for rynabond then Foamex or something will be used.
My honest opinion is not to use any coloured Foamex outdoors. I know we all do and I do and have.. But I don’t like doing it.
Explaining to the customer that you can supply in Foamex, Perspex etc but give him the price differences then give the downside of each material and you will find they go for the ryanbond 8 out of 10 times.
In this particular sign I didn’t. I just quoted on using this.
Rynabond/ alucolour/ dibond hold their shape much better and do not warp or go brittle. The Kontakt sign was fixed to a mesh cage with a 2 inch steel border. It was old and in poor condition, although very strong. If I would have used say… Foamex the uneven structure would have caused a slight wave in the Foamex.
The fixing is with bolts/screws so in hot weather the Foamex would buckle because it has been fastened instead of a frame.
Vinyl also takes to the painted surface much better and lasts the test of time.
The overall finish appears better also and its easily wiped if it gets dirty. Foamex tends to hold the dirt a bit or discolours.

Your right mate.. Rynabond is just the same as dibond & alucolour.

I applied the thick red band at the bottom first then separate thin lines to save vinyl.
