Revolution Transfers launches complete digital production solution at LabelExpo, in conjunction with 3M, Roland DG (UK) and ColorGATE

This year’s LabelExpo sees UK specialist supplier Revolution Transfers offering a complete digital solution for label production. The end-to-end capability includes a choice of Roland DG UV-curable or Eco-solvent based print-and-cut ink-jet devices in conjunction with 3M matched media and ColorGATE’s Productionserver 6 RIP.

Revolution Transfers will be demonstrating this complete low-cost production option on the 3M stand (11Q110) at LabelExpo, illustrating the benefits it will bring to label producers. Unlike existing analogue and digital systems, there are no lengthy set-up times or make-ready requirements. No separate procedure or equipment is required for cutting, as Roland DG’s devices incorporates both print and precision contour cutting within the machine.

Pairing Roland DG’s ink-jet print-and-cut unit with 3M’s optimised media enables users to deliver small-lot labels, decals, stickers and commercial and industrial labels quickly and effortlessly. Both solutions also enable variable data to be used within the workflow, making the system ideal for personalisation such as sequential numbering and individually customised text and graphics. Versioning and last-minute copy or text changes are also made easy with this digital solution.

At the show, Revolution Transfers will demonstrate Roland DG’s print-and-cut devices in a choice of durable, colour-accurate ink configurations. As a proven UV-curable option, the company’s well-established VersaUV LEC series is ideal for proofing and small-lot label production, with prices starting at just £38,999. This integrated print-and-cut device comes in widths of 0.76m and 1.37m and can print CMYK plus white and varnish onto virtually any substrate up to 1mm thick. This means that non-white materials can be printed and that spot varnish can be used to achieve high-end or special effect labels. As the device needs no warm-up time, it can be switched on instantly making it always ready for immediate production.

Roland’s desktop VersaStudio BN-20 is the company’s new eco-solvent label solution which is also being demonstrated on 3M’s stand at the show. Priced at £5,499, this affordable print-and-cut unit is a strong candidate for low production of short-run labels onto virtually any digital coated substrate, with a maximum print width of 480mm. With the VersaStudio users can achieve high resolution output in CMYK, plus metallic ink, making it suitable for the luxury label arena.

Revolution Transfers and Roland DG can be found on 3M’s stand ( 11Q110) at the show.

Revolution Transfers sells heat presses, cutters, large format printers and a wide range of branded and unbranded printable media, providing customers with solutions for print-and-cut, fine art, proofing, screen print and flexo film systems.
