  • Replacing Pinch roller on Roland XC-540

    Afternoon all,

I noticed today media twisting in the printer quite badly resulting in the cutting being miles out. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the far right pinch roller is knackered.

I’ve had a quick look online and seems like it is straight forward enough to change, just thought I’d ask on here also for anything to be wary of? We’ve always had technicians in before to do any fixes on the machine so we’ve never had to do this kind of maintenance in house before so any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    John

The roller bit is easy. Two circlips and a rod and washers.
The frame itself is 2.5 hours by the techie on an SP54o if its an end roller.

A daunting task for a mere signwriter to attempt.

Thanks Simon, looks a bit more daunting than I thought then. Think I’d best at look at getting someone in to do it as can’t afford the downtime if I make things worse.
