  • Removing vehicle wrap. Special gloves?

Posted by Gwaredd Steele on January 6, 2011 at 4:23 pm

    Afternoon all.

Just removed an entire wrap from a SWB connect van & am experiencing a severe blister on my thumb 😥

I have a SWB Transit to strip & also a extra LWB Sprinter 😮 so I was wondering if there are any specialist gloves that I can use that still grip but will protect my phalanges?

    Many thanks!

I use an industrial gas heater to warm up the side of the vehicle. Makes removal a lot easier. Need to be indoors though and you can put the gas heater on a dolly so you can just push it along.

Cheers all. I used the steamer, but the problem lies in the continuous pulling of the material, resulting in mentioned blisters.

We used to use halogen heaters to warm the panels then pull away, cleaning any residue with Rapid Remover.

As for gloves you can get latex dipped cotton gloves from places like ARCO that will do the job.
