Hi All we make alot cut logos/text layered with multiple colours, supplied direct to the customer for them to install, we usually do the artwork in Illustrator and use finecut for the mimaki, we have to manually make all the registration marks, so we can lay them up before we app tape them, does anyone else do it like this, am I doing this the wrong way ? also is there any software (mac) that will make these registration marks like weeding boarders so we dont have to place them if this is the only way to do it.

    Thanks Gary

Put a box around the design and change the colour of the box each time
To the colour you are cutting before sending it to the plotter. Then when it’s taped cut out this box so you have all the colours with the same size border.
If the customer puts them on themselves tell them to fit the first one and mark the corners before removing the tape then they will all line up. Or if you put them together just line up the boxes each time while still on the roll. Then peel off the tape before applying the next colour.
