Has anyone got any advice on how to achieve the pattern below using red and white reflective vinyl. Do we have to apply solid white panels and then apply individual red squares or can you get vinyl pre-made with different patterns on. And it if so, does anyone know of suppliers who cater for this sort of thing.

Any thoughts or advice would be very welcome.

    Many thanks
    Nick

The best method of manufacture depends on how big and how much. The most time consuming way is to cut squares and butt them up to each other. If it’s not too big, you could get someone to print the red onto white with a Gerber Edge ( max print width of 298mm). If you lay red on top of solid white you will be using twice as much white as you need to.

    Give us more info.

Thanks Andy, the pattern will be applied to the sides and back panels of 8 Vauxhall Zafiras.
I think seeing as how many there are to do, applying individual white and red squares would take for ever, hence the thought of putting solid white panels down first.
I believe you can get thin translucent overlay films in different colours to apply over the white to achieve the red squares. these would be easier to cut than red reflective.

White reflective on the back and sides of a vehicle? Naughty. Strictly speaking, that is not allowed. Anyway, for that quantity of vehicles, I would template the panels and tailor make the kits to fit. Then there is no trimming to be done once it is on the vehicle. If the squares are quite small then butting them would be very time consuming and an overlay film might be more appropriate. For example, the average Police battenberg is made of butted rectangles but they are usually 600 x 300mm rectangles.

I’ll have a look through my suppliers as one of them listed what you are looking for recently(the battenburg effect on a roll), can’t remember who though but will try and find out.

Grafityp also supply it, but you may benefit by asking for a specific quote for the amount you need in the quote/tender forum
