• Raster Link Pro 4-5

Posted by Phil Grundy on November 10, 2009 at 10:34 am

Hi, have bought a CJV machine recently, running SL 8 with a plotter before that on PC.
When the machine was installed the Pro 4 software was quite slow so a pc upgrade was recommended.
So 2 weeks ago upgraded the PC that runs the printer so I could try to get better colours etc than SL 8 and guess what Raster link pro 4-5 does not work on a 64 bit operating system, bummer, is this right & if so has anyone else got this problem & is there a solution?
    Thanks

    Phil

A lot of software won’t work on a 64bit OS unfortunately. A good CPU and plenty of ram would have been a better option.

I aquired a Mimaki JV33 a couple of months ago and discovered the same problem, great hardware but let down badly by old software. I chose to run mine through Wasatch and this has proved to be a great solution as I also have the CGFX cutter which is driven by Wasatch.

However i did some investigations at the time and Mimaki where saying then that they hope to be 64 bit capable by December 2009 do not know if they are still on track or not.

    Regards

    Russell.

Cheers Russell will look in to that one, the thing that peas me off is that a upgrade was recommended so I decided to upgrade to a quite high spec PC like you do, that don’t work.
Looks like I will have to wait till they catch up, or upgrade to a down grade.

Hi John, looked at the CPU & RAM but it was Windows XP & apparently will only address just over 3GB of ram?
