Racing Motorcycle Wrap
Posted by Peter Mindham on May 16, 2011 at 7:24 pmJust thought we would post this race bike we did a full wrap on for the start of the season. We used APA wrap material for all colours. The bike is being raced presently and is in the top three of his class. BSB bikes coming soon.

Looks good Peter,
I wouldn’t know where to start to wrap that 😕

Thanks Martin.
It was a bit daunting but it actually went quite well. As with most motorcycle tanks, they can be a bit difficult to wrap in one piece. This tank had three pieces but we were able to hide them on curves etc. Much harder to do these small fiddly panels than a bonnet! We have done a few now though so are in the groove. We love wrapping bikes.
coming your way next month so will try to drop inPeter

Lovely work mate. the fiddly bits are the fun bits though dont you think?! 😀

looks great
bike tanks are a nightmare
theres a company in the uk, that only wrap bikes. lotta work!

Yes I don’t mind the smaller bits as they are a challenge. The tanks can be a nightmare. I know of people who wrap them in one but many need two or three pieces.
I love doing them but you never get the real amount for the time spent.

i find it a bit difficult near the ground these days, but can never find a satisfactory way to hold the parts still on the bench.
tried taping them down, bean bag, and a few other silly ideas, so any advice. please -
Hi Chris it is a problem. We use a bean bag or bean seat, the type you just throw on the floor. It is sometimes as I am sure you know, a two man job, just for what seems to be a stupidly small panel. That’s where the additional cost mounts up as you have two to pay for.
I’m working with a local metalworker in fabricating some type of adjustable jig that we can attach the panels to and hopefully wrap them that way. I’ll keep you posted.
