i have a sample of FOREX smart. it has been left by a suplier for me to have a look at. i must say, i think its rather nifty! 😎
its 10mm thick and comes in sheets 1230 deep by 3000. its as light as or lighter than correx and has an outdoor life of upto 2 years. its got a very smooth flat matt surface and a hard polystyrene type core. first thought was, this would be the doggs gonadds if you had a falt bed printer, but even at that.. for mounting prints/vinyl onto it will make some real nice signs. more so interior stuff for promotions and the like. its 100mm depth will give a bit of dimention to in store signs and the best part is i just cut into it with my stanley knife and its like butter. 😀
obviously this is just my thoughts while having a play around with the material , but has anyone else used, or saw it? would love some feedback on it? 😀

    anyone? 🙂

hm. the JV3 print head assembly has two screws that lift the head up a fair bit, there is a way of getting the head higher but not worth it.

You really need a machine with a moving table and suction or a UV print head for that stuff, heat makes it bend too much and risk £1000-type heads.

    john. phil, :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: yes! one of my very few typing errors i make. 😳 😳 😉

phil, yes you are in the mag this month, i only received mine yesterday.

dave, when i looked at getting the jv3, the big wide one, it says you can print direct to foamex and the like with additional rollers that come with the bigger machine? i think it was the clearance and the non contour cutting ability that put me off in the end. but thought the option to print direct to rigid board was brill, but very limited.

leigh, its probably called “rigid & hard” board in the states :lol1:

    HI Guys,

Alcan have only made 300 sheets to see what the market reaction is , it has only been made initially in 1220 x 2440 10mm , we are always looking for more environmentally friendly alternatives to foam pvc.
Yes it will print on flat beds / is UV stable for 2 years.

    Sample are available from stockists

    Cheers
