So why did you vote no 1 first Marcella?

    Sorry Rob

Can we start a new thread to discuss the designs?

because Rob asked for your 3 faves IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

so that’s what I did. But no one else seems to have paid any attention to what he asked us to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀

Number 5 looks more like the Jamaican entry. Not London. IMHO. 😀

Apologies to whoever’s design it is, but that’s just what hit me at first glance.

On the other hand – the influence of multicultural London etc etc. 😀

In fairness marcella is right, we did ask for 3 votes.
This is a bit of fun after all.. but thinking about it again, counting the single votes as proper votes may actually be unfair on the other entrants… what do you think?

I think you should disregard anyones vote who did not list 3. 😀
Three votes is the fairest way.

Tell them if they don’t play by the rules their vote is scrapped! 😉

Three votes are fine, or one or two but not two or three for the same design,
I think as described, you asked for 3 votes in "no particular order,"
implies 3 different ones. so anyone who voted duplicates votes should not count.

looking at short list of the entries posted, none really capture the spirit off the event anyway, just my opinion,

All good designs, but not quite there…..

(no I couldn’t do any better)

well thats me wrong again how strange is that, not strange at all as I am always wrong 🙂

Its just my opinion Rob, I dont think they have,

I dont know who designed which, so its a purely subjective opinion,

As I said, all are good, but none have the impact, even if controversial, as the official one.

and that is the point of a sign, to attract attention……

    again just my humble opinion

    ducking down now….

    Honestly I liked #5 best.
#2 was good as well if not a bit generic.
The others were too busy/odd colors in my opinion.
    I thought #5 was perfect.
I wish we could have just voted for our favorite.

I agree Jill – 5 was the best.
I think number 3 (sorry whoever did this) is a bit confusing – why pink and purple in it? 😕 Bears no relation to the Olympic colours …….

anyway I couldn’t have done any better but I still know what I like.
Number 5 has the right balance of simplicity and colour.

peter, there is nothing wrong with stating your opinion mate…
i just dont think the official logo captures any sort of spirit other than that of what the designer may have been drinking when he did it. 😉
i dont even think the official one was done to stir some sort of controversy. it has no need to, it is THE Olympics after all… gaining a little free negative publicity to go down in history is hardly what i think the UK has in mind to be remembered by.

i agree jill, judging on your favorite would have been easier.
the reason i didnt just make it one winner is because i just thought of it as a bit of fun. having 3 prizes just makes winning something that bit easier for everyone. 😀

I think it looks good, but to me the colours are wrong, that is, if its supposed to be a representation of the union flag, St George (red)is there and possibly St Andrew (blue)

    but yellow, green and black…..

    Again, just my unbiased…

I liked 5 too but thought it was too "English"

(Not that there’s anything wrong with being English – but this thing is supposed to be multicultural).

I have to reluctantly agree with Peter – somehow there was something missing from all the entrants that didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

Like Craig – I would like to nominate Robs design as my favourite so far.

Rob, whatever method of voting is fine, one vote or three, the one with the most wins, the next one comes 2nd, etc.

From memory (for what I have left) the flag in 5 is very similar to a London Tourism campaign a few years ago?

When do all the others get posted so we can all comment on those, maybe we all should have been judges for all the submissions. I’m sure one of them would have stood out as does "one" of these 5 but I’m not saying which "one" seems to be winning 😕 😉

I feel that all 5 of them are far too similar to each other to be blown away by one of them. Like I mentioned before it looks like they were all designed by the same person and won’t be surprised if more then one of those are done by the same person.

Just an observation and I’m probably way wrong 😳
