• Quick Hello

Posted by CMYanko on June 5, 2002 at 7:17 pm

Just a quick hello to let people know that I’ll be keeping my eyes open for anyone who needs help with OMEGA. No spam, I just want to hear what people are saying and give a hand where I can.

You’re welcome Curt, I think – but you’d be even more welcome if you’d fill in a little more of your personal profile?…makes you less of a ghost! 😉

and, at the cost of looking silly, OMEGA what?…

    more soon

I don’t see anything missing from the profile really. I don’t do IM stuff and I don’t have a picture yet (I’ll find something to scan in the near future).

If you don’t know what OMEGA is then I’m in real trouble!

I think he is mostly referring to the Gerber Omega software. I will keep my opinions on that to myself 😕

Thanks for filling in more of your profile and, again, welcome to our site. Perhaps I just caught you earlier when you were still updating it. 😉

Not everyone here is familiar with your product but now I’ve visited your website I understand what you meant by just ‘OMEGA’.

Rest assured if anyone should happen to ask about it we’ll shout loud!

    more soon

    Curt,

Welcome! One of your “cubical cohorts” directed my attention here not to long ago. Thank him again for me, as I didn’t know how to spend the few “spare” minutes I have each day. 😆 “I” am very appreciative to see you guys on these types of boards. Goes a long way in customer relations in my eyes. Don’t know if management views it that way, but at least “one” end user does.

If you read any past threads, you’ll soon discover that “G” products (hardware or software) are, for the most part, in the “minority” here. With a little work maybe a few perceptions can be changed.

Remember, the Edge is a thermal “colour” printer in these parts! (How’s that Gray, setum’ straight from the beginning 😉 ) Welcome aboard Curt!

I think you will find it is more down to price than the way *G* products are perceived!

I think for the most part *G* products have a good reputation in the UK.

Even Omega? That’s a “feat” that hasn’t even happened here in the states! It’s getting better day by day thanks to the “cubical clan”, but more then a few folks still have a bad test in their mouth.

Price doesn’t always equal value. What other manufacture has in their specs that the equipment has to survive then perform after a nuclear blast! 😆 😉 I’ve seen more “running” 4B’s then “dead” ones.

Surely it is better than the antiquated Graphix Advantage?

Now you come to mention it a lot of our customers have had problems importing our stuff into Omega.

I’ll rephrase it *G* hardware has a good reputation in th UK.

Thanks for the warm welcome eveyone. I recognize Bob from your lunch here with Tony.

I wont get into the various merits and demerits of GA or OMEGA, I’ll leave that to people who use it for a living. I will, however, help out with any technical issues where I can.

I’m working on that photo but with a mug like mine it needs a lot of touch up! 😛
