• QUESTION ON BANNERS

Posted by Josh Steenbergen on May 12, 2006 at 7:05 pm

I am a new comer to the industry…. This might be a stupid question for you experts, but what is the general rule of thumb for how much space to leave on a banner for sewing and taping the edges… I left about an inch to about and 1.5… Is that enough room or should I leave more…

    Thanks,
    Josh Steenbergen

    Hi Josh.
What is the size of your banner? Are you talking about space for when you layout your design?
I will generally consider about 2 inches height wise top and bottom when laying out my design. 3′ high grommeted and hemmed banners are 33′ high, 2′ high banners are about 20-22" high, but can vary with the manufacturer.

    Hello,

For banner welding if you will that the veld i yust abaut the end of the picture then you have to leave abaut 3 cm.

But if you don’t wont to make hole in the picture for butons or else leave about 6 to 8 cm

Josh, the company that does my welding need 35mm around the edge for welding or sewing. Seems to be the rule of thumb here, as all the contract welders ask about the same be left for finishing
