  • Question about wrapping – Can my music stands be wrapped

Posted by Billy Lawton on December 12, 2018 at 2:07 pm

    Hi wrapping friends,

Not an area I know anything about – I print my graphics for my music stands on a latex printer.

My stands are pressed from extruded polypropylene board I have especially manufactured in black and white options – but a few customers have requested a different colour ‘top’ or a full 3 sided wrap.

I know you can buy red / green / yellow etc etc fluted material from most sign suppliers, but its a much lighter weight and not suitable – mine is 1250gsm.

Any advice, or is there anyone out there that could take on very small orders, sometimes as little as 4 stands.

I’m attaching images of the tops, and a link to finished stands with a printed graphic or cut vinyl on the front only.

    My gallery

Thank you all for taking the time.

    Merry Christmas

    Billy

You may struggle to wrap the edges if it’s like correx.

If it’s more solid like foamex, probably more luck, but you’ll probably end up doing the edges in pieces.

There’s a material called Stadur which is like a denser, more robust version of featherlight/foamcore, which you can get edging strips for.

Thanks David – I wasn’t fully clear I guess – I don’t need them fully wrapped, but able to go over the front and sides, but to take the shape of the hinge creases – the same with the tops.

    Think it’s possible?

    Thank you!

Hi Andy – it’s because the finished required are often specialist finishes like metalics / foils etc – showtime stuff 🙂

if these fold flat for transport etc, think vinyl over the creased edge hinge will fail quickly
