    Hey don’t worry Andy,

When applying lettering to glass, always use light colours such as white, yellow, silver. Darker colours (reds blues) never show up well on glass unless they have been highlighted in some way (such as a white outline).

The curvature of the glass can’t help but distort the lettering – you either live with this or do something deliberately curved like a circular design.

Ingram software have some nice vehicle graphics (flame effects, pinstripes, logos etc.) on their “outlines” CD – Check with Brian Hays to see if his company offer something similar 😀

    Phill,

I guess you have the ingram outline CD what do you think of it?
Do you have any of their other stuff? and if so what is your opinion of it?

    Questions questions!
I believe Mike the sign used to endorse some of Ingrams products.

    Hi Lorraine,

I did – yeah – I was once asked to review their professional vector art CD – it was pretty good actually…and I said so!

Of course the limitation with that or any other clipart is that once you’ve used it ‘in your local area’ then you’ve got to be clever to disguise any future use of the same item…one reason why, if I’m gunna use some clipart, I’ll just use a wee-bit of it and merge it into the rest of the design…

    more soon

Mike I mentioned that as i was at the shop today clearing out some stuff – spring cleaning, and came across a flyer with your pic on it, I thought i’d seen you somewhere before!

You did a couple of layouts using the clip art, clearview with the window frame, and drill bits diy shop or something with a drill.

    very nice too!

Lorraine – I have the Ingram outlines CDs and the chisseled effects fonts. Both I think are very good products. However, I would recomend you buy Mikes Secrets of design CD – This tells you how to create your own Chisel effects as well as a great many other visual effects using ordinary fonts.

Why use other peoples clipart – when with Mikes help you can create your own original artwork. 😀
