Here’s the main signs for a local Free House pub I did last month, the Angel Inn board with the ‘scalloped’ corners (is that the the right word?) is 10mm foamex covered in Mactac 9800 vinyl & gloss painted edges.

    Cheers,
    Steve 😉

Point taken Steve, I had to keep it similar to the old signs in style & size to keep the clients happy, in fact I think my signs ‘breath’ 😕 a tad more than the original sign did (see pic)

P.S. do you like the lighting set up?? 😮
This is going to be changed V soon!

    Great job Steve.

Image of angel is great, was it digital?. If so who produced it?

    Cheers

Thanks for the great comments, 🙂
the ‘Angel’ was my client’s idea, she has a Victorian circular print of this interpretation of Raphael’s Angel (16th Century, I think 😕 )
The print was 200mm wide so no problem using my A4 flatbed Epson Perfection 1240U to scan at 300 dpi. Then in the wonderful Photoshop 7 (running on my wonderful G4 Mac 😀 😀 ) there is a super new tool called ‘Auto Color’ & just one click of this enhanced it enough ready for print. (see pic)

Danny – I have my vinyl printing done by a very helpful company called Apex Signs & Graphics Ltd in Preston, they have a Roland Colour Cam, so I emailed a high res jpeg to them & they printed the 2 ‘Angels’ onto white Oracal 751. Actually, first off they supplied a test strip (500mm x 6″), after my nightmare with a certain company from Kent who’s Arizona print was not the colours I expected I now show my client a sample print (:)

After applying the print to the sign I took the precaution of over laminating it with a clear vinyl (Avery/Fasson 940QM), the last Angel pub sign lasted 10 years (mind you it looked bloody rough 😮 )

Mike – Thanks mate, enjoy the ‘you know what’ 😉 …maybe best when the present Mrs ‘The Sign’ is out, 😉 ….Know wot I mean, wink, wink……. 😮

    Cheers, Steve T
