  • Problems with spam folder, any help appreciated?

    I hope someone can help me here as i am beginning to pull my hair out. 😕 :lol1:
    i get LOTS of emails everyday… too many actually… i have recently discovered a problem with the BT SPAM filter. It is taking my good emails and binning them in the spam folder. i only find out about this because i get notified later on that someone has been emailing me and i have been ignoring them, well that’s what they think anyway and who can blame them… 😕
    i am now searching my spam folder daily and picking out lots of proper emails. when doing so i click the "This is not Spam" button but still they fall back into that folder. This has never been a problem till recently… i can clock over 50 emails needing replied to on a regular day easily, so the last thing i need is to start searching spam folders in case I’m missing some.
    i haven’t changed any settings, everything is as it has been for at least 18 months…

    can you help?

    I had this on a webmail account, not the business ones. Loads of REAL Emails were getting binned. In the end I switched OFF the spam filter, refreshed the system & turned it back on again as though it was the first time – made a world of difference – now I just need to bin the occasional spam one that slips through.

    The biggest problem I get with Spam is I can’t get the stupid key to work 🙄

    Every time I manage to thread the key onto the thin bit of metal that you then use to peel open the tin … either the thin strip of metal snaps, or I cut my finger on the sharp edges 😕

    I’m guessing the email addy is an old btinernet, openworld, talk21 etc one, that you access through mail.yahoo.co.uk

    If so, go to your Bulk folder, find the message that isn’t spam, click the NOT SPAM button, it will then take you back to the message, at the top of the message it will now say;

    "Thanks! Every message you report trains your SpamGuard Plus filters to work better for you.

    The selected message was reported as not spam. Edit Spam Protection Settings – Learn More About Spam"

    Click edit spam protection, in the middle section, "Mark Spam + Not Spam" tick Move the message to my Inbox and save.

    That should be you sorted.

    Hope it helps.
