    Hi
I am tryin to print a poster measuring 2000×1200 on a HP 3500cp. Its just a paper poster for the workshop. Its a jpeg & i have placed some text on top of it in corel x3. when i print its just printing the jpeg and not the text. if i select the text it will print, but if i try to print the jpeg with the text overlay, the text does not print. I have no printing knowledge and would appreciate if someone could help. If i use all the same settings and print on my a3 printer it prints fine ??

    thx in advance

Try selecting the text and bringing it to the front – usually ctl page up.

It may be your image is to the front, so covering the text.

    Hi Dave
Thx for the reply. The text is definately in front of the image. I have tried leaving it as a font & converting to curves, but it makes no difference. If i keep all settings the same but just send it to my office HP printer it prints fine with the text overlay.

You may have a mask/marquee around the text,
    try combine objects with background
Also if you select print preview wysiwyg.

also just thought, is the text set as the contour cut colour?
in which case it wont print

Very little experience with Corel but you may have to convert both jpeg and text layers to one bitmap by ‘flattening’ them.

The print driver you use for your A3 will be very different from the print driver used by your large format which would explain the difference in results.

Try "select all" when you send it to the RIP. Corel will send only the selected part of the pic. If you have the background selected, with the tick on "send selected area" to the printer, only the pic will print. If you highlight the pic with "select all", everythig on the page will print.

    Just a thought

    What colour is the text?
If it is white, make sure overprint fill/stroke is not turned on.

Check your RIP or printing program is set to print BOTH raster and vector
