  • Problems after re-installing Onyx 10

I have got a new PC for the print room and have got pretty much everything working OK except for one thing; I have a Summa D160 and an HP L26500. I use the OPOS Barcode setting to cut media so if I have a print and cut job to do I print it in Onyx, then open Cut Server. This is set to cut to file. The I set Summa Cutter Control to scan the barcode and it pretty much looks after itself. I set the blade speed/pressure on the cutter.

My problem is after installing I no longer have the option to allow the cutter to set the pressure/speed. It is set in the cutter configuration in Cut Server. I checked on the old PC and that had a check box to allow the cutter to set parameters. I cant see anything else I have done differently. Any Onyx geniuses out there got any ideas?!

    Thanks in advance

    Hi John

V10 was interesting re Summas as there were many cutting upgrades throughout 10,10.1, 10.2 and 10.2.5

Some of these came by way of a patch so it’s possible that someone patched your original version (maybe on install?) and thus your new install hasn’t had a patch run on it yet and so looks different?

In 10.2.5 the bit you are looking for is found in the drop-down in the layers section over on the right hand side of CutServer.

If it’s not there, we’ll have to hunt it down…but it was in every version don’t worry they just move it to keep us on our toes!
