  • Problem with printing/laminating then cutting – help please?

Posted by Matt Greer on September 16, 2014 at 10:42 am

Hi we seem to have a problem when we try to cut lettering out once we’ve printed then laminated it. We are using the alignment option on the Roland printer its the same machine we used to print it on.

is there anything we’re doing wrong or is it just not possible to get it lined up again once you take it out to laminate it.

attached are a couple of pictures to show you the results we get.

    Thanks
    Matt

We had the same issue alittle while back.

    – Run the cut alignment option again – Explains this in the manual.
    – Check the last two pinch rollers as these taper in at an angle if these become warn the print cut will go off.

The pinch rollers sorted us out you can buy them from signmaster systems

Doesn’t look like there is any bleed on the print. If you print a blue block, and cut the
lettering out of this, you won’t have any alignment problems.

there are two different print and cut alignments one is just print and cut the other is cropmarks to cut.

a small bleed will help you as said
over what area was the print and cut
did the first cut be in the correct place and wander off a bit further in to the cutting.
print with two rollers cut with as many as you can
if a earlier machine have you done a environment check latly
