    Good morning everyone

Could anyone give us an idea what’s happened to the LED in a light unit we fitted a year ago? We used a PCB strip with pre-soldered LED’s on it and fitted it into this bespoke slim light trough, and it worked fine when we installed it, but after a year, a section of the LED’s have dimmed down while the others are still at their normal level of brightness, and there’s no gradual fading from bright to dim.

    Any ideas please ? (hmm)

Sounds like a dry joint on the board. I would check around the point where a bright LED meets a dim one.
