What is the best way to set up artwork for printing gradients. I’ve done some green fading to very light green and they get a bit stripey rather than fading smoothly. I’m printing on a JV33.

Convert to a bitmap then add a Gaussian blur to get rid of the "steps"

I don’t know what software you are using but in Corel you can increase the number of steps you use.

I was trying flexi and illustrator and getting the stepped look with both.

I will have a go at saving as a bitmap.

Once you’ve created the bitmap you need to add some "noise" to the image to "blur" it and get rid of the defined steps. In corel this is called a Gaussian Blur
