  • Printing Door Mats, sublimation heat settings help needed?

Hi all.. not sure if anyone has come across this before.. or if it can even be done?

I’m trying to press a floor mat through a rotary calendar press but the ink isn’t taking to the material as I think the time isn’t long enough although I have it on the slowest speed.

Should I up the temperature and give it another go or am I barking up the wrong tree.

    Thanks

I don’t know anything about doing it via a rotary press, but if it’s sublimation and you have a spare one or you have wasted one, I would try tests and increase the heat. If it is sublimation, are the mats definitely for sublimation printing?

Thanks Robert.. yes I think next step is to ramp up the heat as I can’t make the speed go any slower. I buy these on a smaller scale for jobs so definitely the correct media, I usually press these on a small clam style press but the size of 60cm x 40cm is just to big for the small press 👍

Guessing you may have already tried this Wayne, but is the temperature setting on your clam press machine the same temp as your Rotary Press?

Robert to cut a ling story short we just bought a classic press big enough to press the floor mats.

Works a treat. Thanks for taking time to reply.
