  • Printing a gradient for an external lightbox.

Happy new year to one and all.
I’m applying vinyl to a 1500mm wide flag shaped rim and return lightbox.
The Logo that is to fill up the face is both solid colour and a gradient. I’ve had problems previously with printing gradients onto clear vinyl to apply to an opal face. It looks good during the day, but as soon as the lightbox is lit it just looks faded or washed out.
I had planned to do the solid colur in translucent vinyl and the gradient in printed clear, but i think there would be too much of a difference.

I not too keen in printing the entire graphic, installing and then being asked to fix it because the logo nothing close to there corporate colour when lit.

    Any advice is greatly welcomed.

    Cheers

    Steve

    Hello Steve,
I think the best way is to print your Image onto a white light Box Vinyl. Re: 9700 mactac designed for light boxes etc…This should give the image a bit of a body, This might help

    Cheers Mathew,

Just phoned Signtrade and their doing it for 9.50 p/m and sell it in 5m rolls.

Hi Stephen, if you can it may be worth doing a double strike on the clear stuff, just like you do when you print for a felxiface sign, as it makes the colours stand out a lot more.
