Printer Supplier Recomendations

Hi all

I am about to purchase our first printer and after much thought I think I have settled on a Versacamm SP540I.

I have got quotes from a range of suppliers and they all seem very competitive.

I am not really looking for printer recommendations but I would like to hear peoples experiences with there printer supplier.

I realize that the warranty is from Roland so I would like to hear experiences about peoples dealing with them, and also how helpful there supplier was with more minor queries and tech support.

Hi Adam,
My supplies i have abit of vinyl from most places, Meta mark, Grafityp, i think i have some from APS actually Jac and Avery as print vinyls and quite abit of colours, alot of it is from Grafityp, Graficast.
All seem to work well and i also have a sp540i.

Just order a selection and try different ones for different jobs..

I have used I-Sub Digital and Print Max both have been very good.

Anyone got any advice on who to buy the printer from ?

Had quotes from the following

Grafityp
Robert Horne
Signmaster
Silverskies

They are all fairly competitive on price but has anyone got any horror stories regarding after sales assistance and tech support ?

I know which one we wouldn’t use again !!
We purchased a plotter from number 4 on your list – approx spend 3k – about 18 months ago – they promised a lot and I was sold but unfortunately they didn’t deliver.
Only small things like – "We will throw in some extra blades FOC" – they didn’t although they were reminded several times.
Plus, asked for tech support after a few months – never returned my calls.

Perhaps this is only a 1 off but its my experience of this company.

Very helpful chaps, excellent level of service.

I was definitely favoring either Robert Horne or Signmaster there quotes were very much alike.

Anyone bought a printer from Robert Horne or Grafityp ?

Grafityp’s quote was the most expensive but they included a large media bundle with it.

Our printer came from Robert Horne, ok support service but for technical knowledge and assitance not a patch on signmaster, Robert Horne may find out the answer for you Signmaster normally know the right answer there and then.

My vote go to Signmaster.

Bought our Summa cutter from Signmaster last year & received a 1st class, probably use them again when were in the market for a printer

Going to get it delivered early April from Signmaster
